Damn talented people

When I see things like this I realise I will never create anything this cool. Ever.

meat hand not martha

Megan over at not martha put a butt-load of effort into this meat hand and I really have to say it paid off. I want to make one but I don’t know if I have the patience. My Mum on the other hand… (bahaha, get it – HAND)!

magnetocakes

Kelly at MagnetoBoldToo has been baking in a fashion that would make pastry chefs cry like a baby and kill for  her talent. I am so jealous of her amazing skills but I have already told her she is baking for my birthday next year. I will have the hamburger cupcakes please. Send them in the mail goddammit Kelly!

Ungerfirearts

Over at Coilhouse Meredith Yayanos has written of the battle that artist John  T. Unger is currently involved in. He is being sued by a copycat artist to have his copyrights for his work overturned. This is a sad situation for an artist who produces amazing work. When I am a little bit comfortable and have some land I will be buying a firebowl and relaxing in front of it with lots of wine. Have a look at Unger’s work at Artisinal Firebowls.

One day I will do something great, and then you will all be sorry!

That meaty hand is highly disturbing. Clever, but disturbing!
And those hamburgers are cupcakes? That’s incredible!

  2. Kelley @ Magnetoboldtoo Says:

So you didn’t like the Pokemon cake then?

    *sob*

    *snigger*

You are so awesome, thanks for the kind words. You KNOW you could do it too. Seriously. Especially the hamburger cupcakes, they were dead easy.

@Charlotte – The hand repels me yet draws me in at the same time. I don’t know how to feel. Would I eat some if given the chance? Would you?

@Kelley – The Pokemon cake was terrible. Obviously that was what I was thinking when I didn’t include it.
*snigger* right back at ya lady!
I think I will definitely try the hamburger cupcakes. You don’t have copyright? Please don’t sue :)

Hahahahahaha, those pictures are AWESOME! I am particularly impressed by the lifelike meat hand, and the skill that must have been put towards creating it..

Let us all be honest – we would have to have a bite. Now, if it were real human flesh, and say, you hadn’t eaten for 2 weeks, where would you stand then?

  8. sarah hannah Says:

Oooooh, these hamburguer cupcakes are so damn cute! I do wish I had that kind of baking skills. I make good cupcakes, and quite delicious pancakes, but they’re always really ugly. Which turns out to be good, because people don’t eat them thinking they won’t taste good, so I have everything to myself. Yeah, I’m greedy like that.

    xoxo

Oh, and in regards to your questions about Christchurch!

Food is tricky in Christchurch… We aren’t really known for our fine dining, haha. Strawberry Fare on Peterborough Street has the most phenomenal desserts.. And there is an adorable Cupcake Parlour you have to go to on Salisbury St!
